FIRST Robotics

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was formed in 1989 to pique young people's interest in science and technology and encourage them to participate in it. FIRST involvement has been shown to motivate children to seek STEM-related education and careers, inspire them to be leaders and innovators, and improve their 21st-century work-life skills.

JrFLL, FLL, FTC, and FRC are the FIRST contests (in order of grade level). Competitions aid in the development of self-confidence, communication, and leadership skills in students, as well as the recognition of schools. Various tournaments assist pupils develop self-confidence because they are surrounded by hardworking teammates. Students can feel more at ease in their surroundings by establishing new acquaintances, allowing them to freely share ideas and assist the team. Coming into college, leadership responsibilities are highly rewarded, especially if you plan to pursue engineering as a career. Students who want to help the team can take on extra leadership roles with FIRST.

Founder of FIRST

Dean Kamen is an entrepreneur, inventor, and passionate proponent of science and technology. The cornerstones of FIRST are his enthusiasm and commitment to assist young people experience the thrills and rewards of science and technology. For more than 25 years, Kamen has consistently guided FIRST to its current position as the world's premier non-profit STEM engagement program for children.
